Love or Money? Enlightenment or Abundance?

Do you choose love or money, enlightenment or abundance? The good news is that you don’t have to choose. If you follow your purpose doing what you love and are naturally talented at while also creating something that enhances other’s people’s lives, you will be both fulfilled and will attract abundance.

Can you be on a spiritual path and run a money-making business? Yes!

When you align your business with your purpose, it’s easy to pursue both.

Chasing Money

Chasing monetary success at all costs is a way of the ego, driven by the need to survive and prove yourself worthy, or to show off to others. Chasing external success is like living your life for others, not for yourself.

I believe there is a distinction between a purpose-driven entrepreneur and someone who just has a business. An entrepreneur is a free-spirit, someone who wants to make their own mark in the world by providing services or creating products in their own unique way. They follow a calling–their purpose–taking risks and making something out of nothing. They are not motivated by profit; they are motivated by purpose, growth, and contribution.

The person who is in it just for the money is motivated by profit and makes decisions to minimize risk. They tend to follow proven business models for success. They choose to operate franchises or a business where the calculations on paper show a potential for monetary gain.

When seeking enlightenment first, working on your spiritual development may look like it is slowing down your outer success. The accumulation of money is not the goal of life. The goal of life is to express our natural gifts and talents, to grow ourselves and become the best people we can possibly be. Having abundance is an indication of that growth. Success is not only measured in dollars.

Despising Money

Money is energy. When you provide a service or a product, your client gives you money in exchange. This balances the energy between you two.

Some spiritual entrepreneurs have an underlying limiting thought that money is bad. Money is neither good nor bad. Money can be used for good things or bad things. Money helps you be more of who you are.

To make it easy for you to receive money for your services, answer these questions:

  • What would you do with more money?
  • What opportunities having more money will create for you?
  • How will having more money improve the lives of your future clients?
  • How will more money help you help the world?

In my case, more money will allow me to eradicate the effects of abuse and to raise awareness so cases of abuse decrease considerably. I established Irinuca — Child Innocence Foundation to help abused children ages 12 to 20 evolve from being emotionally traumatized to becoming truly free, empowered, and confident in their future and know how to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

When you have more money, you will create more. You will be able to support a cause you care about.

You are making this world a better place first through fulfilling your purpose and you can do so when you make good money in your business.

Making more and more money in your business is also important. When kind and loving people like you have more money, more kindness spreads into the world.

Neither chasing money nor despising money is balanced.

When you have to make choices, always lead with your heart, with your passion, with what you love, and trust that the Universe will support you and the money will come. This way, you will live a full life. When you choose to follow your passions and personal growth, your life will be rich, you will be fulfilled and you will be able to leave a legacy.
